EXAMPLE: Integrating ekey into a Grenton smart home system

The smart home manufacturer Grenton has created documentation so that our ekey bionyx devices can be integrated into their system. You will find the link with all necessary steps below.

Integration with the Ekey fingerprint reader (grenton.com)

You can change the language here to English and then find the instructions under “Gate HTTP” (or search for “ekey”).

Please note that the activation of the ekey bionyx system must have been completed and that the system must be fully operational.

A big thank you to Grenton for these instructions!

Important: ekey HTTPS requests offer different security settings, mainly TLS and AllowHTTP. Using TLS provides a higher level of security by encrypting the connection. However, it can be slightly slower because the secure connection must be established first, which may cause a small delay.
The AllowHTTP option is faster because no encryption handshake is required, but it is less secure. If the local network is properly secured and trusted, this option can be used as an alternative. Please note that, depending on the method, the data may be sent unencrypted in the home network. ekey does not accept any liability for consequences of any kind.
